Disability doesn't mean disadvantage...

Residential Homes for people with Learning Disabilities

Welcome to Future Life

As one of Kent’s independent specialist care providers for service users with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour we have specifically designed our web site to help you find out more about the services we provide and explain about our aims and objectives. We currently own and operate care homes in the south east. We trust that you will find our site informative as we recognise that for the most difficult decision you will make… it’s all about choice.

Visit our homes section to learn more about our residences. If you require more detailed information please contact us.

About us

At Future Life we provide support, care and create real choices for our service users. We wrap them in a warm friendly environment which allows them to lead fulfilled lives.

The environment is created by our staff who we encourage to achieve the highest standards they can. We support this with a well designed training programme that meets the needs of our service users. We already meet the qualification requirement set out by CSCI that 50% of care staff should be at a minimum of NVQ Level 2. Currently we have in excess of 80% of staff that have reached this level with the remaining 20% already in training to achieve this mark.

Each day we ask ourselves: Can I make a difference today, can I provide care and support at the level that exceeds our aim! When we finish we ask ourselves: Did I make a difference today? Each day we try to push the benchmark to a higher level to provide a better service for those who are vulnerable and unable to cope without our support.

Established 1995.

Our aims

Future Life provides within its homes a safe, warm, friendly, compassionate environment with each home using its resources to assist service users to take control of their lives. We achieve this by:

Assessment of Service user
Individual Care Plan Reviewing process
Risk Assessment
Quality Assurance

Once the above assessment has taken place we strive to deliver quality care through O’Brien’s 5 valued Experiences:

Choice
Respect
Sharing Places
Growing in Relationships
Developing Abilities

We aim to achieve our goal by providing a service that practices quality assurance in order to achieve self regulation. By 2007 our aim is to train and educate our staff to a minimum NVQ Level 3 in care or above. Currently 80% of staff are qualified at NVQ 2 or above with the remaining staff being qualified at NVQ 2.

Future Life aims to be a leader in our specific field and set a standard of care that others aspire to and this is to be achieved by 2010. Our belief is that each individual Service User alongside our staff members will play an important role in the structure and future development of the company.

Future Life works in partnership with CSCI to maintain compliance with the Commission of Social Care Inspector Regulations.

Quality Care Assurance questionnaire responses:

“We are completely satisfied with our son’s present situation and cannot think that it could be bettered”

“It is a great relief to know how well cared for and happy Mark is. This is due to the expert help he has received from Alison Williams and the Lambs’. Mark has never been happier since he left home at 21.”

The staff understand and know my son and I am proud of what he has achieved under their direction, especially the way Alison manages and takes care of my son, my mind is always at rest concerning his well being.”

“I am happy here and like the staff support” (Ronnie - a resident)
